Land Court,

Hong Kong, 13th December, 1901.

With reference to C.S.O. Circulars Nos.64 and 57 of the current year, I have the honour to report that up to now no official seal has been in use by the Land Court, but that locally made rubber stamps have served for such impressions as have been found necessary.

It is, however, eminently desirable and even necessary that formal judgments of the Court, which will in many cases form the basis of the root of title to property of considerable value, should be properly sealed; and I have the honour to apply to be provided with a seal similar to that in use in the Magistracy, but with the words "Land Court" substituted for "Magistracy" in the margin.

The seal should be a hand screw press for impressing on paper, like the Magistracy seal, and should be made of steel with a copper matrix.

I attach an impression of the Magistracy seal, which should serve as the pattern for the seal to be supplied to the Land Court, together with five additional copies of the impression, as required by the Colonial Office Circular.

I have etc.,

(Sd.) S.H.J. Gompertz.

Member of Court.

of the current year I have the honour to report that up to now

no official seal has been in use by the Land Court but that

local made rubber stamps have served for such impressions as have

been found necessary.

It is however eminently desirable and even

necessary that formal judgments of the Court which will in many

cases from the basis of the root of title to property of con- siderable value should be properly sealed and I have the honour

to apply to be provided with a seal similar to that in use in

the Magistracy but with the words "Land Court" substituted for

"Magistracy" in the margin.

The seal should be a hand sorew press for in-

pressing on paper like the Magistracy seal and should be made of

steel with a copper matrix.

I attached an impression of the Magistracy seal

which should serve as the pattern for the seal to be supplied to

the Land Court together with five additional copies of the in-

pression as required by the Colonial Office Circular.
